The Eye Centers of Racine & Kenosha Announces iDose

Revolutionary New Glaucoma Treatment

Racine & Kenosha, WI, March 1, 2024 — The Eye Centers of Racine & Kenosha, industry leaders in innovation, (such as Vitreolysis, One- Step Vitrectomy floater treatments, and SMILE which is a next generation laser vision correction) is pleased to announce that they were one of the first practices in the world to surgically implant the iDoseTR.

On Wednesday, February 14, 2024, I. Paul Singh, MD, was one of the first surgeons in the world to implant the iDose travaprost releasing intracameral implant (TR) to reduce intraocular pressure (IOP) in patients with open-angle glaucoma (OAG) or ocular hypertension (OHT). Made from medical-grade titanium, this implant is placed directly into the sclera tissue just under the trabecular meshwork and back wall of Schlemm’s canal. Once implanted, the iDoseTR will continuously release 75 mcg of a preservative-free travoprost throughout the patient’s day. This is a revolutionary step in reducing the drop burden for glaucoma patients while allowing them to embrace life more fully.

Dr. I. Paul Singh shares that, “Treating patients with glaucoma for 20 years now, and being a part of the phase 2 and 3 trial of the iDose, and other technologies, I have learned to appreciate how hard it is for our patients to stay on topical medications long term. We now have so many options to intervene early using multiple technologies, that we can now help protect patients from not only losing vision but also maintain their highest possible quality of life. Congrats to Glaukos, all the investigators, and all who were involved for 15 years of work to make this day a reality.”
