Dear Patients, Staff, and Friends of the Eye Centers of Racine and Kenosha:
Just when we all thought that a global pandemic was the worst thing that we could all witness and bear, a European nation with strong roots here in Wisconsin and in our neighbor-state Illinois came under an unprovoked attack by its neighbor.
We can’t un-see the destruction of this country’s landscape and innocent population. In less than 3 weeks, almost 2 million people have been displaced.
This is not a political matter. This is a humanitarian issue that affects all global citizens directly and indirectly.
In an effort to help, the Eye Centers is launching a 3-week fundraising initiative, starting tomorrow, 3/11.
You will see our staff wearing blue and yellow – the colors of the Ukrainian flag – on each Friday of the month. To earn this break from wearing their normal uniform, they will each have donated $2 for this special and unique “Casual for a Cause” opportunity in our company.
We will have donation jars at Reception in both of our offices. All donations are personally being matched by Dr. Paul and Umang Singh and Dr. Krishna and Katharina Sanka.
All donations will be sent directly to Ukraine via The St. Andrew Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Bloomingdale, IL.
We encourage all of you to show your support for Ukraine by wearing your “blue and gold!”
