This month, our President Dr. Inder Paul Singh celebrates 22 years with the practice. Congratulations!
Dr. Paul – as he is often affectionately called – joined his late father and founder of the company Dr. Kanwar A. Singh in September of ’04 after completing his Glaucoma Fellowship at Duke University. Aside from his passion for surgical treatment and innovation, Dr. Paul brought with him a desire to help our patients get access to the vast research that was being done in the field of glaucoma at the time. As a Fellow, Dr. Paul saw firsthand how FDA-sponsored clinical trials were positively impacting patient experiences – and helping find more efficient and effective treatments for a variety of ocular diseases.
This inspired Dr. Paul to help bring FDA clinical trials to SE Wisconsin, housed in the Eye Centers of Racine and Kenosha. Our Research Department has been part of over fifty different multi-year studies in the areas of glaucoma, dry eye, floaters, multi-focal lenses, just to name a few. Thank you to Pam Lightfield, CRCC who helped set up this department with Dr. Paul 15+ years ago and who has managed the department since. Under her leadership, all of our Providers have served as Principal Investigator [PI] or Sub-Investigator on groundbreaking work in the field of ophthalmology.
As we head into a new season – full of beautiful Fall foliage and anticipation for the holidays not too far behind – we want to thank our patients for trusting us with their eye care needs, big and small. We are grateful for your participation in our research studies and clinical trials over the past almost two decades. Our patients fuel learning that impacts the field of ophthalmology every single day.
Finally, congratulations to Dr. Danos who will celebrate her first anniversary with us later this month! We are so lucky to count her as a member of the Eye Centers of Racine and Kenosha team of providers.
